Creepy kids with supernatural powers hold a small English town in their grasp in Village of the Damned. George Sanders plays the hero of the film, which blends sci-fi and horror to create one of the best scary movies of the ‘60s. John Carpenter attempted a remake in 1995 which is considered by many as a dismal failure.

The third collaboration between joined at the hip compatriots Tim Burton and Johnny Depp saw the eccentric twosome get bloody in Sleepy Hollow. Depp played fictional sleuth Ichabod Crane who uses his rational mind and current scientific methods to solve several crimes in the village of Sleepy Hollow, only to find his culprit is the Headless Horseman (Christopher Walken).

Bram Stoker’s Dracula has been adapted numerous times, yet it is Tod Browning’s 1931 take on the iconic character which many still point to as the ultimate Dracula movie. This is mostly due to Bela Lugosi’s take on the legendary character, with his look and mannerisms setting a trend for vampire performances.

After dabbling with a little comic book movie called Spider Man, director Sam Raimi returned to his horror roots with the appropriately titled Drag Me to Hell. Playing the part of torture victim this time was Alison Lohman, who starred as a loan officer who must lift a curse placed upon her. Otherwise down to the fiery pits of Hell she will go, yet not without contending with some much patented Raimi slapstick madness.
