BAD BOY FOR LOVE

Written by Matthew Pejkovic
Jim Carrey proves that there is no obstacle when it comes to love, in the long languishing romantic comedy with a twist, I Love You Phillip Morris.
Based on real life events, Carrey portrays Steven Jay Russell, a family man who –after a near death experience – comes out of the closet to the surprise of his wife (Leslie Mann).
Turning to crime in order to sustain his flamboyant lifestyle, Russell is eventually caught and sent to prison, where he meets the object of his affection, Philip Morris (Ewan McGregor).
After Morris is released, Russell escapes from prison several times in order to be reunited with him.
The film made its debut at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, but had trouble securing distribution, likely due to its homosexual content. Now re-edited and due to be released by the Consolidated Pictures Group, I Love You Phillip Morris is sure to create controversy and garner acclaim.
