Robert De Niro, Hugh Jackman, and Lenny Kravitz have signed on to star in the civil rights drama Selma.
The film centres on the famous Selma-to-Montgomery marches in 1965 to help get voting rights for African Americans listed in the Constitution and that helped shift public opinion on civil rights overall.
Kravitz recently revealed that he will play civil rights activist Andrew Young, Robert De Niro signed on as a racist Governor George Wallace, and Jackman is expected to play the smaller part of James Reeb, a minister who was fatally beaten to death by segregationists during these marches.
Lee Daniels (Precious) will direct.
Filming begins in May.
