Amanda Seyfried is on board to star in The Girl with the Red Riding Hood.

After rumoured to be on the short list for the role, Seyfired confirmed she will won the part during an interview at the 2010 Academy Awards.

A modern twist on the classic fairytale, the project is said to be a sexed up supernatural murder mystery dealing with a village plagued by a wolf.

Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) will direct a script by David Leslie Johnson (Orphan.)
