It didn’t seem that long ago when director Oliver Hisrchbiegel wowed the world with his remarkable Downfall. Almost a decade later and he’s already hit his career low, with that usual thoughtful, detailed, and illuminating approach to his projects nowhere to be found in his much anticipated, yet horrendously created biopic on the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
Unable to inject any depth into a shallow script by Stephen Jeffrey’s nor evoke any emotion into the performances of his actors, Hisrchbiegel has not only delivered one of the more atrociously bad films in recent memory with Diana but also squandered the excitement and anticipation his projects once demanded.
