The sight of a comb over balding Christian Bale, a permed Bradley Cooper, and an Elvis inspired quiffed Jeremy Renner is one that will stay in your mind, such is the great work by the hair and make-up team in American Hustle, who have taken an excellent ensemble of recognisable faces and turned them into ‘70s living characters of external excess and (in the case of Christian Bale) almost unrecognisable results.
