If the goal of a great documentary is to move and educate its viewers with the testament of its truth, then The Act of Killing is a damn near masterpiece.
A disturbing exploration into the banality of evil, director Joshua Oppenheimer’s unflinching interviews with the Indonesian death squad members who killing thousands during the ‘70s (and still boast doing so), is an unsettling and infuriating look at injustice at its most severe.
